Life imprisonment for rape of a 16-year-old at Jodhpur ashram; second life sentence in Gandhinagar 2023

Hindu spiritual leader (self-styled "godman") with a network of ashrams across India. On 25 April 2018 a Special POCSO court at Jodhpur convicted him under sections 376(2)(f), 342, 354A, 506 IPC and sections 5(F)/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, sentencing him to life imprisonment for the 2013 rape of a 16-year-old female disciple at his Manai ashram. On 31 January 2023 a Sessions Court at Gandhinagar convicted him to life on a separate rape case from 2013 in Ahmedabad.
